The surface of stones under a foam may retain some heat if you leave the power on for some time, which you may find hot when you touch it. Since this product is not a heater, you will get enough benefit even if the temperature is not so high. Please adjust the temperature according to your preference as each bodily sense of temperature is different.
The PTC heater is safe enough to keep a certain temperature even for a long period of time because of its self temperature limiting characteristics. Small children and the people with sensitive skin should be careful with low-temperature burns although such symptom hardly found at 40°C.
